Pets for Life Visits SeniorCare Homes

Love, treats and pets abounded at Foster Street last week. Several times per month, Pets for Life brings animals to visit the residents at SeniorCare Homes. It is always a thrill to see Maggie the dog getting pets and love at our homes. During the last visit, Phyllis really enjoyed Maggie and posed for a picture in the TV room.SeniorCare is very grateful for Pets for Life and thanks them for their support of our residential assisted living homes in Johnson County. They have a lot of programs and activities for the residents, so they are not just sitting around staring at the walls. They also involve the residents in daily activities when possible. When you visit you feel like you are in a house rather than a facility–because you are, and the caregivers make you feel at home and accommodate whatever you might like to do with your loved one. They know her many stories and how to respond specifically to her when she is upset. They work with the family to keep her medications to a minimum.
