SeniorCare Homes is a local family-owned business specializing in Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and Memory Loss/Dementia care in real residential homes.
A note from our founder, Jerry Pullins Jr.

I began my career working at Newcomer Funeral Homes, and later transitioned into the hospice and healthcare fields. When my grandmother developed dementia in Council Grove, KS, she was forced to leave the home she’d lived in for 50 years. As she moved between nursing homes, skilled care facilities and hospitals, my father and I realized there has to be a more personal way to care for our seniors in Kansas City.  Together we founded SeniorCare Homes in 2007 with the goal of offering an innovative, personal approach to care that larger, corporate facilities are unable to provide. By dedicating our efforts to providing highly personalized care – formed through deeply rooted relationships with our residents, families and staff – we have been able to bring our dream of the best care in the city to life. Our homes feel like an extension of each resident’s own home and family.

In 2019, I decided to bring Matthew White on as our President and my business partner. His gift for systems, culture and clinical excellence birthed a new chapter in our history. Matthew brought extensive experience in senior living and hotel/hospitality into the SeniorCare family from his experience at John Knox Village, working with major lifestyle hospitality brands and driving patient/family experience at Boston Children’s Hospital. His addition fostered the development of many new initiatives driving toward even more personal care, raising caregiver retention and fostering a new vibrancy in our culture. Matthew is an active member of the Kansas City community, and as a Board member at Rockhurst University for both the Helzberg School of Management and the St. Luke’s College of Nursing and Health Sciences.

Having more than 2 decades of healthcare experience now, we are still family owned and participate in each of our 6 locations on a daily basis. Our offerings have further expanded to provide senior living advocacy and support to families through our sister company, Carestreet, which was founded in 2022. Our mission in operating these two parallel organizations is to open our arms in helping as many families as possible by sharing our many years’ worth of industry knowhow navigation and expertise. As part of the Johnson County community, we are passionate about what we do, and we do it from the heart.

Care Specialists

Nothing is more important than an excellent and consistent staff. One of the greatest strengths of SeniorCare Homes is that we keep staff turnover to a minimum by offering premium wages and excellent benefits. We also alternate weekends off to ensure that the staff can stay fresh and maintain an optimal work/life balance. We truly value our staff and are grateful for their dedication to the SeniorCare family. We typically interview dozens of candidates for each Care Specialist position and look for people who share a common belief that a smaller environment is more beneficial to a resident’s well being. As such, our team devotes more time and develops stronger relationships with each person.

Our Care Specialists are all highly experienced and specially trained to care for residents at all stages of dementia, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.  All of our caregivers are certified with the state of Kansas as Certified Medication Aides, Certified Nurse Aides, or Licensed Practical Nurses and each receives ongoing training.

Resident Doctors & Nurses

SeniorCare Homes has a team of resident nurses who handle the daily clinical needs at each home. They are on-call 24 hours a day and spend time in the homes on a daily basis. This allows your family to form close relationships with our nurses to ensure the highest level of care.

We also work with an exclusive group of physicians, geriatric specialists, nurse practitioners, podiatrists, occupational / physical therapists, dental hygienists, chaplains and other clinicians who all make house calls in order to keep the disruptions in our residents’ lives to a minimum.
