We focus on a “Golden Girls” style living feel for those looking to be social, active and participate in a host of daily activities. Newport House is located in the heart of Old Leawood and features five individual bedrooms. It is surrounded by green space and includes a walking path, beautiful views and an open floor plan. A vibrant option with 24 hour care and nursing support make this a great option when a smaller supportive setting is needed to bridge the gap between assisted living and memory care.

“My dad has been with SeniorCare homes about 9 months now. They take great care of him and are very communicative when it comes to any issues that may arise. They have a lot of programs and activities for the residents, so they are not just sitting around staring at the walls. They also involve the residents in daily activities when possible. When you visit you feel like you are in a house rather than a facility–because you are, and the caregivers make you feel at home and accommodate whatever you might like to do with your loved one. They also have a lot of fun monthly get-togethers for family members to come visit and become acquainted. The facilities are all state licensed. “My mother has been a resident here for a year. We looked at several facilities in the area and found none that come close to creating such a safe and comfortable home environment. The house is spotless, well maintained inside and out. The garden and walking path are enjoyable year round. The residents are well cared for. Mom’s clothes, hair, nails always look great. They know her many stories and how to respond specifically to her when she is upset. They work with the family to keep her medications to a minimum. They sit with her, hold her hand and talk with her when she is confused or needing a little extra TLC. They are very welcoming to the family when we visit. They deal with her mood swings appropriately redirecting her and giving her attention. They are patient and professional dealing with her many night time wakings. “My dad lived at SeniorCare Homes’ Waveny Park House for more than two years. It was a great experience for him and our family. When you walk into a SeniorCare house, you feel a wonderful positive energy and a sense of family. It’s not institutional. It doesn’t have that funky nursing home smell. It is a regular home.
