Eggciting Easter at Newport House
The lovely ladies at Newport House had a ball coloring Easter eggs and dining on bunny cake Easter Sunday. Their eggs turned out beautifully and Nancy was proud to show off her creation.
“I meant to send this earlier! Thank you always for your help as mom transitioned to Vineyard House! Everyone was wonderful…the experience was beautiful…not one unpleasant thing!“
“I have not seen any other level of care that compares to this. Several of my Mom’s roommate’s families only found SeniorCare homes after challenging experiences at other facilities. Most do not even know this exists!!! I know in Western PA, from where we moved our parents, the ONLY level of care was a “nursing-home/Assisted Living.” In KC we are fortunate to have many options from Independent living to assisted living, to skilled nursing. We are blessed there is another level of care available in a “group-home” setting such as SeniorCare Homes.“
“It is staff at SeniorCare Homes that make this a place for our mother.
Care is individualized, details are attended to and they are so very, very good at what they do. They have put pieces together to know Mom as a person and can figure out what she is talking about when the word salad times are at their greatest. They are the best!

“I live close by one of the senior care homes and have visited many occasions with my children. The residents love having the children come in a read books to them. I have had such a wonderful experience every time I visit that I have a passion for referring friends with aging parents. It is place that feels just like home! We have brought our girl scout troop to do crafts with the residents as well as sing and play the piano for them!! Can’t say enough good things about senior care homes and how they run their facility.“
“I have had the pleasure of visiting the residents at SeniorCare Homes and doing fun activities with them on a monthly basis. It is such a joy to walk into one of the houses and feel right at home. Each time I walk into the door, I am greeted by friendly staff and usually a hug from one of the wonderful residents. The houses are so full of energy and so much laughter. The residents are truly good friends with one another and the staff is amazing! SeniorCare Homes is the best in Kansas City!!! “
“My dad has been with SeniorCare homes about 9 months now. They take great care of him and are very communicative when it comes to any issues that may arise. They have a lot of programs and activities for the residents, so they are not just sitting around staring at the walls. They also involve the residents in daily activities when possible. When you visit you feel like you are in a house rather than a facility–because you are, and the caregivers make you feel at home and accommodate whatever you might like to do with your loved one. They also have a lot of fun monthly get-togethers for family members to come visit and become acquainted. The facilities are all state licensed. I feel my dad is in good hands and I don’t worry about him wandering or feeling frustrated and lonely now.“
“My mother has been a resident here for a year. We looked at several facilities in the area and found none that come close to creating such a safe and comfortable home environment. The house is spotless, well maintained inside and out. The garden and walking path are enjoyable year round. The residents are well cared for. Mom’s clothes, hair, nails always look great. They know her many stories and how to respond specifically to her when she is upset. They work with the family to keep her medications to a minimum. They sit with her, hold her hand and talk with her when she is confused or needing a little extra TLC. They are very welcoming to the family when we visit. They deal with her mood swings appropriately redirecting her and giving her attention. They are patient and professional dealing with her many night time wakings. They have relieved us from the stressful part of care giving, allowing the time we have with our mom to be pleasant and enjoyable for both her and our family. “
“After two years of horrific experiences with “corporate models” of nursing home care, I came to SeniorCare Homes as a case study in unmet expectations, clinical and business ineptitude, and most serious of all, a sad story of indifference and neglect in memory care for my beloved wife. I was exasperated, jaded, and frankly worried if I would ever find superior quality care for her. The responsibility weighed heavily on my mind and heart. From my first conversation with Jerry, it was clear to me that he approached his business from an entirely different perspective; one of quality, focus on the needs of the individual patient, and compassionate, personal care. Moreover, the people who work for Jerry are faithful representations of his business mission. They are all approachable, accessible, and accountable, and they care about the people whose welfare is entrusted to them. I am grateful that SeniorCare Homes under Jerry’s leadership understands the importance of taking care of the smallest details; the result of this model of care is peace of mind for me and my family.“
“My dad lived at SeniorCare Homes’ Waveny Park House for more than two years. It was a great experience for him and our family. When you walk into a SeniorCare house, you feel a wonderful positive energy and a sense of family. It’s not institutional. It doesn’t have that funky nursing home smell. It is a regular home. Think about it…in a typical Alzheimer’s care facility, there is one staff person for every 25 or 30 people. That is a nearly impossible job. At SeniorCare, there is one staff person assisting five residents. As a result, the staff truly get to know every resident and their families. My dad loved to sing, so they sang along with him. He liked to get up at 3 am to eat Wheaties and they helped him pour the milk. Thanks to SeniorCare Homes, the last few years of my father’s life were positive and joyful. Our family is so very grateful for their high quality care, love, and compassion.“
